Burrill and Pete Haskell

Pete Haskell lost his fight with cancer on Wednesday November 16. Chowder & Marching was lucky to count Burrill and Pete amongst our devoted friends and two of our most ardent supporters. The memorial held for Pete at St. Matthew’s in Bedford today showed what a huge part he played in this community.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and parishoner – Pete will be remembered for many things: his love for a good time (and a glass of gin), a good laugh, a good deed and above all – for his love of cars. No discussion here will come close to the many touching remembrances shared today by his family and friends and neighbors. Equal parts tears and laughter, it was a perfect sendoff for someone his son Livingston lovingly confirmed in Pete’s own highest praise: “a good guy.”

We will miss you.

After the torrential rains this week, the Park looks like a small lake and that does not mix well with 200+ children and electricity!
